701

Thrifted blouse
H&M Skirt
Kelsi Dagger sandals

As you can see, I changed my hairstyle to a short bob. Just something a little more suitable for the weather and my current mood. I was in DC over the weekend to celebrate my friend Chiji's Birthday. Her and another celebrant Jumi(her friend) had a dinner party at the 701 restaurant. It was my first time being there but it most likely will not be my last time because the restaurant was quite atmospheric. One quality that sells me on a restaurant is the atmosphere, that comes second to the quality of the food. The food was also pretty good, and I loved that the celebrants were able to specialize the menu. I got to meet some new faces and had an overall great time. Check out Chiji's blog Pardon Our Randomness.

H&M blazer

Keeping up with city life...something I'm still getting used to. I went downtown today for a little window shopping and a casual lunch. It has been a little chilly through out this week, I'm talking high 50s and low 60s. So much for sandal weather. It gets a little colder downtown because it's so close to the water. I went to Edo Sushi then walked around the whole harbor strip. I eventually made my way to the Francesca's in the Gallery. That store has such a boutique feel to it without the ridiculously high prices. Even though I hate being an impulsive shopper, I fell in lust with one of their bags and decided to buy it. Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend.

Just in

Charles by Charles David "Harmonious" sandal
Kelsi Dagger "Felicia" sandal

It has been established that spring is here and summer is technically right around the corner. So I've been doing a little spring cleaning here and there. Over the weekend, I ordered these 2 sandals and they got here today. The black ones are suede and they have a simplistic design that ironically caught my eye. I can see myself having so much fun with the purple ones. Amen to sandal weather!!!

Hoodie for Trayvon

Today is the Million Hoodie March for slain teen Trayvon Martin. Many of you may already know who he was or maybe you might have heard his story on the news. On February 26th, 2012, Trayvon was just a kid walking home from a trip to the store when he made an encounter with neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman. A 911 call that was made prior to the incident, painted an image of what truly happened that fateful night. Zimmerman was told not to follow the teen by the dispatcher, but he insisted that "black males" had been burglarizing the area lately. Although precise details of the event have not yet been released; it has been established that Zimmerman proceeded after he was told not to. The unarmed 17 year old was fatally shot in the chest and died at the scene. Zimmerman claimed that it was self defense, and he was not arrested.
This is a very unfortunate situation and I believe justice has not been served. It is truly disheartening, because this did not have to happen. I have a 17 year old brother and I cannot imagine going through something like this. As much as I like to stay diplomatic in alot of public matters, I refuse to do so in this one. I am just too aware of this system and its many injustices. Even though Trayvon cannot be brought back, I think his killer should be brought to justice.
There is a petition currently online to bring George Zimmerman to justice. It will not take up to a minute to sign it, so please go to www.change.org. This could have been your brother, cousin, son, nephew, or friend. Think and sign.

Happy first day of spring to everyone! Alot has happened in the past few months, including a permanent relocation to Baltimore. I have been trying to adjust to the new move, and now I think I can fit blogging into my schedule once again. With that being said, I am back from my 3 month hiatus. I love Baltimore and I think it is often overlooked, under-rated, and overshadowed by D.C. Unfortunately, not alot of people really get to see the beauty in this city but I hope I will be able to show it, or atleast make an attempt.
I went out last night to Cazbar, a turkish/middle eastern restaurant. I have always been a lover of Mediterranean cuisine, so choosing this restaurant was no hassle. I ordered the Doner Kebab, it came with rice, a salad, and yogurt sauce. It was delicious and reasonably priced. On Friday and Saturday nights they have belly dancers, so it's a great place for food and live entertainment.
I am ready to fully explore Baltimore and show you all why it is called "Charm City", so look forward to more posts.

What a girl wants

Marni for H&M Spring 2012

                                               iPhone 4s/5

                                                Canon EF 18-135mm Lens

iPad 2                                 100 years of fashion illustration

The Marni H&M collection for spring 2012 displays upcoming trends for the spring and it speaks for itself. I hope I will be able to get my hands on one of the amazing pieces from the collection because I am almost certain that it will be scarce. I have always been a big fan of Apple products and I would like to get an iPhone 4s or an iPad 2 sooner than later. Would be nice if I could get both, a girl can dream right? This is a wishlist afterall.
It would be nice if I could get my hands on this Canon EF 135mm Canon lens. Apart from taking pictures for my blog, I love photography in general. It is one of my favorite hobbies. Last but not least, I want the 100 years of fashion illustration book. I loved illustrating fashion when I was younger. I  had a portfolio of all my drawings that eventually got lost somehow over the years. Anyway, these are just a few things that I would like in my possession.

Although it was cloudy today, the weather was unseasonably warm. Nothing outrageous but it definitely feels cool outside instead of cold, especially in December (not like I'm complaining or anything) I got this bag in a flea market from a woman who was selling vintage items for around 5 dollars. Flea Markets and consignment shops are the "go-to" places to find rare and inexpensive items. If you've never been to one, you should definitely consider making a trip.

I remember entering this year with alot of ambition and charisma. It's december already and I can't believe we're about to enter the year 2012. As excited as I am, I wish time could slow down a little bit. I wish happy moments could be stretched out, just so we could enjoy them some more. I am joyful to be ending my year with thesame kind of mindset as I did entering it. Anyway, this blouse was one of those "deals" I was talking about in my black friday post. It retailed for about $50 and It ended up costing me about $18 after all the percentages off. Not bad, huh?

I woke up to springlike weather this morning, but right before I stepped out the house it started to rain. It rained so much that I had to do this shoot under some bleachers. I'm actually surprised it hasn't started snowing yet this close to December. It's not like I'm complaining but I guess I'm used to winter being here this time of the year. With that being said, I'm officially awaiting the first snowfall of this season.
